Dr Anton Gomez BVSc, BSc Clinic Director

Anton graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2005. He joined the team at Chirnside mid 2006.  Prior to completing his veterinary studies, Anton gained a Bachelor of Science, at Monash University majoring in anatomy and physiology.

 

Anton has an assortment of fish and turtles and 2 rescue cats Luna and Molly. He is a Collingwood Football Club supporter and enjoys watching the game in the comfort of his own home.

Dr Sae Inoue BVSc Clinic Director

Sae graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science in 2007. She joined the team at Chirnside Park Veterinary Clinic in the new years period of 2008.  Sae grew up in Japan, and ventured to Australia to study English after completing Year 12.  She challenged herself to go further and studied Veterinary Science to make her dream come true.

Sae's furry family consists of her three domestic short hair cats Avo, Femme and Pods.  She also has an Australian Shepherd cross called Luuka.  Sae has trained all her pets to sit down, shake hands, drop, hi-5, and wait before their meals/treats.

Dr Roslyn Fleay BVSc (Hons), CMAVAFounder and Director

Ros graduated with Honours from the University of Melbourne in 1986. She started working immediately in mixed practice in the Yarra Valley until 1993, then transferred to mixed practice in the Dandenong Ranges. In 2001, Ros decided to establish a small animal practice with an afterhours emergency service to cater for the people and pets of the Yarra Ranges. Ros has a special interest in Small Animal Reproduction particularly canine and feline infertility, and attended the International Congress of Small Animal Reproduction in Canada in 2012. Ros loves to study and has now completed three Post-graduate veterinary courses in:

  • cardiology (hearts)

  • ultrasonography (ultrasound)

  • oncology (cancer)

  • and is currently undertaking the ophthalmology (eyes) course

 

Her furry family consists of three cats, three horses and two dogs. In her spare time she likes bush walking, horse riding, cross country skiing, and is an avid St Kilda Football Club supporter.

Ros sold the practice in September 2019 to Dr Sae Inoue and Dr Anton Gomez. Ros will continue to work full time and have an integral leadership role within the practice.

Dr Daphene Saw DVM

Daphene graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2017.

Nurses

 

 

Hayley - Head Veterinary Nurse

 

Hayley started working at the clinic in 2009 and completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2011.  She has 3 rescue cats Shaq, Oskar and De Lilah.  Two of Hayley's cats are unique in the fact they only have 3 legs each!  Hayley's golden child is a lovable rottweiler Floyd.

Hayley's husband collects turtles, fish and the occasional lizard. Needless to say, Hayley gets to look after all the reptiles that come into the clinic.  She enjoys spending time with her partner, friends and her animals.  In the near future she will be going back to study to further her knowledge.

Bec - Head Veterinary Nurse

Bec obtained a position with Chirnside park vet clinic straight out of high school in January 2012.  She is currently completing her Certificate IV in Veterinary nursing.   She also runs a successful pet sitting business through the clinic where she looks after and house sits clients pets.  

Since working at the clinic Bec has adopted a Devon Rex Minty, an oriental Cosmo and a Scottish deer hound Fergus, who joins her jack Russel terrier cross Cooper.  Bec enjoys socializing with friend's and ticking off countries from her travel list.

Jo - Head Veterinary Nurse

 

Jo started at Chirnside Park Vet in April 2015.  She is currently completing her Certificate IV in Veterinary nursing.  Prior to Vet nursing Jo was a horse riding instructor for 12 years and also a teaching assistant at Box hill tafe for the equine studies course.

Jo has two dogs Bella and Tyson, American Stafford terriers and 2 birds Bingo and Banjo both rescue birds.  Outside of work enjoys spending time with her young family and occasionally fitting in horse riding.

Kimberley - Veterinary Nurse

After pursuing a career as a graphic designer and later a flight attendant Kimberley started her dream job as a vet nurse at Chirnside Park Vet clinic in May 2014.  In 2015 she completed her Certificate IV in veterinary nursing.  

 

At home she has Wonka and Wilbur, 2 naughty labs and three rescue cats, Phil Collins, Pugsley and Wednesday.  In her spare time she enjoys taking photos of animals and revisiting her graphic design work. 

Bel - Veterinary Nurse - Currently on maternity leave 

 

Bel started her vet nursing career in July 2008 and moved to Chirnside Park Veterinary Clinic in October 2009. Although trained as a human nurse, Bel has always loved animals and made the decision to switch to veterinary nursing in order to pursue her passion.  Bel completed her Certificate IV in veterinary nursing in 2013.

In her spare time Bel enjoys spending time with her menagerie of animals including horses, dogs, cats, chickens, turtles, rabbits and Kevin the pig!

Leeanne - Veterinary Nurse - Currently on maternity leave

 

Leeanne was born in Essex, England, and came out to Australia in 2004. Moving into the lovely township of Alexandra originally she began work in the healthcare system, but Alexandra provided few opportunities for following her true dream of becoming a Vet Nurse.  Lee moved closer to Melbourne in 2006 and stared working at the C.P.V.C in March 2007. Lee is currently completing her Certificate IV in Vet Nursing. 

 

She has 3 fur children including Kira an Alaskan Malamute Dennis the menace a D.L.H, and Narla a Maine Coon; plus Mojo the bird.  Lee enjoys spending her free time catching up with her friends, and sitting in her spa.

Julie - Veterinary Nurse

 

Julie began working in the veterinary industry at age 16. She has worked at two other clinics where she completed the veterinary nurse course in 1991.  In 2001 she left the industry to have her first baby. She now has two daughters and a son. Julie joined the team in 2005 and currently works part time while looking after her busy family. 

She has four Burmese cats Dizz, Alex, Porscha and Ivy. She also has two dogs Gemma and Molly.  And last but not least Bazza the budgie, two stick insects, and her husband Chris.

Leah - Veterinary Nurse

 

Leah started at Chirnside Park Vet Clinic as a work experience student and has been working at the clinic since September 2011.  She has completed a Bachelor of Health Science at La Trobe University majoring in Human Physiology and Anatomy.  She is now completing the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Melbourne and will graduate in 2020. She is looking forward to taking more responsibility for animal care in the future. 

 

Leah loves animals and has a Burmese cat called Tyson.  In her spare time she likes to catch up with friends, surf and is an Irish dancer.

Kasey - Veterinary Nurse

 

Kasey began working at Chirnside Park Veterinary Clinic in 2018. She is currently studying her Certificate IV in veterinary nursing at Box Hill.

Kayla - Veterinary Nurse

 

Kayla started working at Chirnside park vet clinic in July 2016 and she is currently studying her Certificate IV in Veterinary nursing.  Kayla has completed her introduction to animal nursing course at Box hill in 2015.

 

She owns a Maltese x Pomeranian called Bonkers and two Siamese rescue kittens called Rex and Sapphire.  She enjoys spending time with her friends, camping and motorbike riding.  

Abbey - Veterinary Nurse

 

Abbey started working at Chirnside Park vet clinic in February 2017 and is currently studying her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing at Box Hill, and will graduate at the end of 2019.

 

Abbey owns a Maine Coon called Maui and 4 rats- Spencer, Humphrey, Einstein, and Bartholomew. She enjoys spending time with friends and enjoys playing the guitar and ukulele.

 

Emma - Veterinary Nurse

Emma started working at Chirnside Park Vet clinic in 2018.  She is currently studying her Certificate IV in Veterinary nursing at Box Hill. Emma is very passionate about all animals, especially German Shepard's. Emma has an Australian Shepard named Brandy and a cat named Tiger. In her spare time she likes to explore the outdoors with her partner Liam.

Sammy - Veterinary Nurse

Sammy started working at Chirnside Park Veterinary Clinic in 2019. She is currently studying her Certificate IV in veterinary nursing at Box Hill.

Kayla - Kennel hand

Kayla started working at Chirnside Park Veterinary Clinic in January 2018.  She is currently completing her year 11 studies and is also studying her certificate I in animal studies.  On Saturday mornings Kayla is our kennel hand and on a Friday she does her placement for her animal studies.

At home Kayla has a kitten called Luna, a Maltese x shih tzu called Prince and a cat called Fish.  She enjoys spending time with her friends, making music and playing with her animals.  

Zoe - Kennel hand

Zoe started working at Chirnside Park Veterinary clinic in early 2019. Zoe has many pets including her Flemish gjiant Rabbit, a Ferret 2 Rainbow Lorikkets a love bird, 17 Quails, lots of tropical fish and a cat called Billy. In the future she hopes to complete year 12 and go through to uni to become a Vet Nurse.
